Pilot Driver

Post by jasonjag »

In most cases the driver either owns his own vehicle and has to be registered with the dept of Transport and Police, then need to learn all the traffic rules in relation to escorting a heavy haulage vehicle, you need several radios like CB and others to comunicate with the truck diver and other escort vehicles and police if they are used, and the necessary lights and signs, but most heavy haulage companys have thier own escort vehicles and drivers, so best to try get a job with a heavy haulage mob, jj

You also need to be authorised by the Commissioner of Police to carry out the role. You often see these in the Government Gazette.
