New thing-a-ma-jigs on side of freeway?

As the topic suggests, anyone know what these things are that they have put up in a few areas north and south of the river on the freeway?
I thought they might be putting up digital displays like near the tunnel but thats just a guess.
Hopefully someone knows what Im talking about.

Theres been a lot of talk about fixed speed cameras lately. Maybe thats it?? I don't know??

A quick stumble around google turned up this -
Kwinana Freeway northbound between Rowley Road and Russell Road (Sunday 13 July. 8am to 10am.) Left lane closure to enable the installation of large support columns for future variable message sign panels.

Boab tree

The huge Boab tree destined for Kings Park form the north west is traveling along Reid hwy east now with media choppers above, 1000
Edit, just went up to Reid hwy and watched it go past, got few pics of the 2 police escort vehicles with Low loader behind it, will see if any one will post police escort pics.. jj 1100

Initially. But I think it's a safe bet they'll be used for static speed cameras in the near future.

was going to kingspark. lucky the rain stay away.(officer why is there tree ON MY house).
