I'm not a fan of Chrome, regardless of the EULA I just don't like the layout. The one upside of Chrome is that it plays Flash objects extremely fast. I used to play those crappy addictive Facebook games for a while there and Chrome was so much better for that than Firefox is. I don't play them anymore so Firefox all the way.

Sadly, Firefox 4 appears to be moving to this new layout where they try to give you as much screen real estate as possible and less room taken up by buttons/address bars/addons etc.

I like my Firefox the way it is!
Adblock Plus, Mozilla Sync (used to use XMarks until they shut down), DownThemAll! (multithreaded download manager) and a few other various plugins that aren't worth a mention here.

Yeah, very true. Now I can get rid of the plug-ins I was using to achieve it :-) There will probably be add-ons or themes to get it back how you like.

Beta 7 is out. Also if you miss the traditional status bar then there's an add-on

Firefox 4 officially released. You might want to keep a copy of FF 3.6.15 handy.. there are quite a few changes which many people are not happy about. I recommend the add-on mentioned in the previous post, as well as turning off the menu item "View/Toolbars/Tabs on top" Some addons haven't caught up yet. Adblock Plus is good to go :D

I just read my post at the top of this page where I was complaining about FF4... hehe

I installed it on all my PC's the other day and LOVE it. So fast and smooth. Looks and feels great too.

7.0.1 is out and the plan is to have version 10 out by xmas... presumably Firefox 10 will be better than IE 9 because it has a bigger number #-o

Is it just me or do others think there is a move away from minor releases to major ones? I've noticed the same thing with some of the software I use at work which used to have a X.y.z SPn and now just seems to do major releases. I suspect the work software is doing this as the underlying code architecture has changed. Wondering if FF is the same?

EDIT: Just re read your post a few back back Robbage. I don't know, maybe someone's . key broke.
