Can't tell, basically he attached the rope to the front bull bar, and needless to say with a car in a lake/ditch the bar was promptly bent quickly. Should have called a tow truck in the first place.

EDIT: Reading the comments its 'Its woodlapine brooke in forrestfield'

I can't believe that he was stupid enough to even try that!!!

I think that clip indicates a training need or a procedure to be put in place.

Then again it was only a Ford so you couldn't have expected much more.

Would you get more torque going forwards and attached to the rear tow hook/or tow ball if installed? Rather than going backwards?

I think that the reverse gear ratio is lower so there would be more torque in reverse. But would have to check vehicle specs. I prefer on tow ball because if rope/chain/strap or other vehicle snaps its not going to end up in your face.

interesting comment on youtube from the video owner/publisher:
My video has had a legal threat put against it to be removed, but i believe in the right of sight (if i can see it i can film it) and i also believe in freedom of press, to keep the public informed and they can make up there own minds, i just happened to be lucky enuff to see this happening when visiting a friend.

Well toottooty seeing that you know everything.

A - Why dont you write to the council and outline your procedure and you never know that they may not take you up on your offer!

Oh ok. Do you work out the torque from the gear ratios?

I don't intend to offer them anything. Sorry if you were misled by my post. If they have threatened legal action against the clip poster then they are fully aware of the situation.
