Well for starters the car's not mine, so I can't just go modifying it at will :)

(Even though I have put an amateur radio in it :P )

But it's not that it's inherantly unsafe, it's just that I've got to watch what I'm doing instead of just reversing blindly out into the street. There's good field of vision to the left, and the right, and behind me up the cul-de-sac once I'm coming down the drive.

I've got one of these and I'm paranoid about blind-spots. I've seen reversing cameras advertised at a couple of the local electronics shops. Do you need to modify the car that much to fit them?

Nah I'm just not interested in fitting a reversing camera. I know where I'm going, and anyone behind me can just get the heck out of the way.

im not 100% sure, i wouldnt imagin that it would be more than mounting a camera on the backbumper/tailgate and running a few cables, alone with a roof mounted screen.

Absolute classic over the weekend was doing my job around the Subiaco oval and witnessed a blue 4wheel drive reversing into a spot. I pondered to myself… wow she’s close she is going to hit that commodore………………. Then BANG!!!!!!!!! She hit it.

She parks up, get’s out of her vehicle and checked her car [no damage] then walks off to the game……….. leaving the damaged car there!!!!!!!!

I was about to cross the road and go talk to her, but two coppers on the push bike’s beat me to it… wonder if she got done for leaving the scene of a traffic accident?

Perth Drivers………………..

Oh and I got my new VE commodore now !!!!!!!!!!!!!
