Yes it does matter. The news thread was established so we don't have to trawl through thousands of threads about news that doesn't refer specifically to a) Western Australia and b) scanning or something influencing the hobby. It also stops the vast numbers of threads that have no replies and few views, just clogging up the server on which WARSUG is hosted.
