Albany and Bremer Bay

Watch this space for pics of some of the geology in albany and bremer bay, got back on sat night from a week long geology excursion, will have the pics up very soon. Something a bit different

Whaling Cove- Albany

This is a gneiss zenolith (light stuff) in basalt (black stuff)

a verticle dolerite (dark stuff) dyke, cross cutting the granite (light stuff)

this pic shows two dolerite dykes cross cutting one another. You can see the granite in the left hand corner (its the light stuff), the dyke on top is younger than the horizontal dyke below it. Theres tape because we had to draw this thing in 3D.
