The Bennett Brook Railway (BBR) is holding an Enthusiasts’ Day at Whiteman Park on Saturday August 4 commencing at 10 am and running until 5 pm. It is a day for the BBR volunteers to play trains and for the public to see a day of varied train operations.

Trains used throughout the day include (Subject to availability):

And the Maylands

Located at Whiteman Village Junction will also be the railways "Kalamazoo" hand operated track inspection trolley to test the strength and endurance of some of the younger members.

Throughout the day there will be several passenger services, goods trains and the original 4 wheeled passenger carriages used at the BBR. The large turntable located at Whiteman Village Junction will also be used multiple times througout the day

The day will also see the commissioning of the new signal cabin at Mussel Pool. The cabin was originally at Cottesloe from 1897 until 1931 then shifted to the western end of the original platform 5 & 8 at Perth station to be used as the yard masters office and then the linen room for storage of linen for overnight trains. Mussel Pool cabin is the only working mechanical lever frame operational in WA. Enthusiasts Day will also see the re-introduction of electric staff safeworking between Mussel Pool and Whiteman Village Junction.

I will be working at the event, at the moment i'll be firing the Perry Steam engine, but this could change with crew availability etc... should be a good day.
