I'm really starting to get sick of all these Qantas stories. There has to be a reason why the media is "going for" Qantas all of a sudden. Every scratch in the paintwork or dirt on the windows is being written up in articles going on about the "beleagured airline" with "yet more problems in the air" and so on.

An open message to the sensationalist media in general... Drop it. I don't care. Planes have problems. These problems get fixed. Every loose screw or dirty window is NOT front page news no matter how hard you try. There's plenty of more important things in the world to climb on your high horse about...

Police towing monopoly line - tow drivers

Crash victims are paying exorbitant towing prices, thanks to one towing company's monopoly over police tow jobs, the company's competitors say.
...
He said the Government's contract with AAAC worked in tandem with the demise of the police analogue radio system to cut tow truck competition.

Tall Poppy Syndrome? Maybe not.. the news is big on US sites as well. Without Rainman, it probably wouldn't be.
