Man dies in fight in Gnowangerup

A 22-YEAR-OLD man and a teenage boy have been charged over an incident in which a 27-year-old man died.

The man died in a fight with a 22-year-old man at a home in Gnowangerup, 345km south-east of Perth, about 11.50pm on Friday night, police said today.

MAJOR crime squad officers are investigating a sudden death in Merrick Way, Duncraig.

A Police Media spokesman said the body of a young man had been found early today, but details of the circumstances have yet to be confirmed.

Man dies jumping from plane without a Chute

AN American man has died after jumping from a skydiving plane without a parachute.
Police said it was no accident and that Sloan Carafello, 29, committed suicide, the Associated Press reported.
Mr Carafello was an observer on the plane when he leapt out behind three skydivers at an altitude of 3000m in New York state on Saturday.

City 'mugger', 17, arrested

A 17-YEAR-OLD girl was arrested and charged with stealing money from a woman in Forrest Chase last night.

Police allege the 22-year-old woman was heading for the train about 8.15pm and when the teenager blocked her way as she got to the top of the escalators and demanded money.

Spoke with one of the guys who performed the rescue. This was a pretty nasty accident. That road isn't the best either depending on conditions. Yes I used to live there.

Principal, teacher 'sped to their own school'

TRAFFIC police have nabbed a principal and a teacher for speeding in their school's 40km/h school zone.
Officers stopped Ocean Reef High School principal Greg Thorne at 7.56am on Thursday after he was detected travelling at 61km/h - 21km/h over the speed limit - on Venturi Drive, Ocean Reef.
Forty-five minutes later, teacher Rebecca Ray was intercepted by police after her vehicle was clocked at 57km/h at the same site.

A SUDAN Airways Airbus skidded off the runway and caught fire after landing at Khartoum airport in foul weather early today, killing at least 28 people.

The head of medical services at Khartoum airport says the death toll of 120 he gave earlier from a Sudan Airways plane fire was incorrect and the figure is only 28.
