Hi guys
Bit of a random question here... but what is the longest combination of the B series trains that Transperth uses?
The reason I ask is that I live right near West Leederville station and obviously with the footy on today, Transperth has ramped up services to cater for the thousands of extra passengers.
I just caught a glimpse of a train going past and it looked WAY longer than your normal 6 car set. It was huge.
Hope somebody can help
Cheers

I have seen a 9 car set travelling before but not sure if it was in service a few years ago.

Station platform lengths are built to cater for 6 car sets max so not sure if they would run a 9 car set that could carry passengers.

This has been known to happen to retrieve busted railcar sets.

Yep, I would have assumed it was an out of service run since you can't unload an extra 3 cars anywhere useful.

Thanks for that... I had a bit more of a closer look and they were 6 car sets. I think it just looked so big because I am not used to seeing them up close, they don't look as big humming down the middle of the Mitchell freeway as they do up close

Yes, up close they go on forever. Back in my day an A series 4 car was huge!

Oh yeah, and the added fact that you normally don't see B series on the Freo/Midland line
It looked out of place!
