Yes lets attach the front bar to all our vehicles and just shove everyone out the way [-o<
But seriously I hope they roll out more to the greater metro area, the amount of times I've come across someone broken down/crashed/out of fuel/etc in peak hour gumming up the works is silly, and nobody helps.
At least once a month or two I will come across someone, ask if they need a push, push there bum off the road and I'm on my way, literally 1 minute job as 9 times out of 10 they have called someone to come get them/RAC. Yet 100's of people are happy to just ignore the obstruction.

It'll be interesting to see how they get through traffic when its all blocked up. Thought they would have had a P1 or P2 set-up.

Again, WA is about 10 years behind the rest of the world
Any one who watches Motorway Patrol based in Auckland will see that the all the Motorway Police vehicles have Buffers attached to them, and they use them to move vehicles off the Motorway.

As do a lot of the US Highway Patrol Vehicles. But I'm sure our Police would argue that they are not roadside assistance yadda yadda yadda...

Not so fast - I saw some GD blokes helping change a tyre on a car which has broken down on Narrows Bridge last week...yorky wrote:As do a lot of the US Highway Patrol Vehicles. But I'm sure our Police would argue that they are not roadside assistance yadda yadda yadda...
Re: New push to clear freeway tunnel
Well I'm sure individual crews would be happy to help especially in dangerous situations, however I'm thinking of the big wigs making the "Official" words, I'd put $5 on my statementjezza wrote:Not so fast - I saw some GD blokes helping change a tyre on a car which has broken down on Narrows Bridge last week...yorky wrote:As do a lot of the US Highway Patrol Vehicles. Re: New push to clear freeway tunnel
Its not really about road side assistance, its about moving a potentially dangerous vehicle from an extremely dangerous spot, not only that but to keep traffic flowing on the freeways.
On Motorway patrol, they take the safety of motor way uses to the up-most, and as soon as something breaks down they are onto straight away.

Has anyone else seen the new Main Roads Merc Sprinters with the push bars & red LED's? Have seen them on the Roe & Tonkin as well as the Freeways.
