Kelmscott Bushfire Various

PICTURES LATER

ENJOY THE VIDEOS FOR NOW :)

Video:

Channel 10 doing the dodgy, ask a guy to get on his roof water it and turn the sprinklers on. His home is in no danger his gardens are manicured. Channel 10 and their uplink/reporter are not even close to the fire or the fire ground. Props to ABC and Channel 9 for heading past where we were into the fire zone. Channel 10 thumbs down this is a misrepresentation of the news and I'll be sending it to media watch if you publish it on the news tonight.

Wouldnt it be better they are not on the fire ground ? I mean the fewer people in danger, the better.
Sure what ch10 are doing is misleading but it is safer.

I was "closer" to the fire and we are still several km's from the actual fireground or the control point. It's terribly misleading.

So is everything else they report on the news.
what difference does it make? maybe they see the areas closer as too dangerous.
I think its great they are staying out of harms way and letting the fire crews do their job, its already hard enough without having to worry about news crews getting in the way.

The ABC/9 news team were not in the way of fire crews that I could see as far as I could see. The rangers and various towtruck companies that are assisting with roadblocks are doing a fantastic job. I'd imagine resources are pretty stretched at this time. People in those areas want news not fluff stories when they turn on the TV @ 5pm. I'll reserve further judgement until I watch the news at 5pm.

Yes the wind is swirling around riding down brookton hwy which is blocked at this time I've heard, it seems theirs plenty of ash/debris falling. However the smoke was not even over this home. To give you an idea this home is on the corner of Albany Hwy/Brookton hwy where as from what I can see the fire is burning more behind where Ranger Camping is aka in line with BP in Kelmscott.

Funny... on your own video you say "... they probably asked him to do it." You obviously don't know the facts. Assumtion is a dangerous thing.

Channel 7 reporter shown actively attacking fire up against a house.

Two thumbs up to that one.
