Hi all. On our recent holiday to Kalbarri i managed to get some pics of the local marked cars, and a couple of pics of their station.

Interesting to see that they still have [and being made] vehicles with peanut lights.

You can also see that they have one of the newer style radars mounted on the dash too.

Interesting antennas on FK201 - HF, UHF (WAPOL UHF), 800Mhz glassmount (TADIS or mobile?), and a VHF whip (probably FRS).

Well it has a TADIS screen in it :)

No the stainless steel whips on the codan hf auto tuner are not the same as the vhf.

1x800mhz antenna = gps tracking only ( for metro)
2x800mhz antenna = tadis/tadis light and vehicle tracking ( metro)

Because the country vehicles use tadis light through the telstra next g network (and are not gps tracked) only need 1 800mhz antenna

(Gps antenna usually located on back parcel shelf or dash board)

Tadis lite = hand held tadis unit...

In the bush we use the full Tadis in the vehicles... Also we are very much gps tracked..

Country vehicles can be/are pinged on AVL

Thanks for the pictures. The picture of the station brings back some fond childhood memories; my Dad was an Ambo in a small town in QLD. There's something about small town stations that I like.

On a side note, I misread "TADIS" initially. I thought this thread was diverging into the realm of Doctor Who. :P
