Most of us know what happened here. I didn't get any pictures of the 'incident' but here are a few shots that may be of interest.
DM Metro blocking off a lane of traffic on the Mitchell Freeway
Both Heavy Rescue's present, Perth 3rd and Daglish 2nd. [Nicely parked!]

I do not think he was a serving officer. I believe he was a party of occupants of the train and was handed a high visability vest because of his location.HL 101 wrote:That Police Officer with flip flops on ? thought they needed inclosed shoes

Good shots, Daglish 2nd was back on station by 1800 though as I went past the station around then and it was there. A day that I was glad I was on a bike, sad work for FRS, Police, Ambulance, Train Driver and passengers. It's never worth trying to cross the tracks to catch the train, it may well just catch you.

Sounds more likely. Any 'member of the public' would've been well and truly moved on...VK6LD wrote:Could be off duty, on the way home...?HL 101 wrote:HL 101 wrote:

Not correct, unless they were giving statements or a member of the deceased. There were officers talking to him with note books in hand so I am standing by statement from what I saw.

Maybe an off duty officer that was on the train? I expect if he was just a witness he'd have had the vest inside out and not been hanging around the side of a pump.
