She seems new on the inside.

It is one of the most uncomfortable aircraft I have flew in. Seats do not recline and the seats are so close in front of you, if you had the middle seat like me you feel clausofobic!

Though - I didnt pay for the flight.

Were you in a exit row seat, looking at the wing shot i would say pretty close, they dont recline for a reason, however the rest to.

i doubt it... unless they have moved the emergency exits over the flaps

I flew on VGU to SYD not long ago... same problem...seats did not recline and felt like a sardine... the airhostess did announce that it was the newest aircraft and that they had not got around to installing reclining seats at the time which i thought was just a load of BS to be honest haha

Sorry to Troll up an old thread, but I was talking to a girls parent the other day, who's dad is quite high up in management.

It seems to say that the aircraft do not recline as a general rule owing to the fact that because the seats have such short seat pitch it would be very uncomfortable to the person sitting behind you when you recline.

Read into it how you may, but generally makes sense, especially when they only do 1hr hops over in the east coast.

And annoy's the fare paying passengers! How can a reclining chair mean less weight? Granted the function should be still there, but just disabled? That's what I understande

you remove the hydraulic ram that is situated under the seat, and put bolts through the pivot point to stop it from moving. All you have to do is re install the ram. By removing the ram which weighs up to 500g mutiply that by how many seats to give you a total weight saving which in turn you do save fuel. It's all how aerodynamics and lift works.

I think it's a pretty reasonable assumption to make, that airline seats recline. Big assumption here but it would be nice if they said the seats on our planes don't recline when you buy the ticket.
