Lovely machine, just out of complete rebuild! So who managed to catch a ride on this type of machine in the good old days.

Yeah, hand up.

As a tiny little guy I recall, so I could be wrong (about '75 ish?)....;
No Aircon. Only a few windows opened. Just along the top maybe?
Brown cord to 'ding' the bell.
Manual only, really used to jerk changing gears going up Malcom St.
Used to be fascinated by the Driver opening the covers above his head to change the number/station.
The heat and smell on the back seat from the engine!
Leather seats that on a hot day would be not and sticky.
A CONDUCTOR!! to check tickets (and sell)
How nice the drivers were and would hang my pram on the back of the bus and get it off as well.

Every one chatted to each other, no cell phones or MP3's.
Anyone playing the fool were sorted out by the driver. Only needed to happen once.

Have a good weekend all :)
