Most FESA vehicles are 2nd hand as they are fleet vehicles. Pretty much FESA decks them out how they want them. My Company that i work for does exactly the same thing

I'd disagree with this. Fleet vehicles are generally new and then go to auction/for sale at the end of the lease period. I'd be surprised if anything bought by FESA was '2nd hand'. What local govt's do themselves however, is a different story entirely.

indeed I have to agree with fastlane there.

One of the women at work is a fire warden and works in Swan Emergency Ops or whatever they're called and mentioned the new vehicle.

I can probably understand that some VFRS vechile are 2nd hand, hand downs from FESA career units. However, the new vechiles that FESA have are all brand new

Doesn't happen like that? Career FRS pumps are usually generally auctioned off. Rarely, if at all, are they passed to VFRS brigades. Most VFRS brigades recieve new LT's. Once again rare that they recieve a used Career FRS LT.

Not 100% sure, but I am happy to be pointed in the right direction if they were new delivered to these VFRS stations?

Old FRS light tankers often get refurbed and sent to country BFB's.

The Light Pumps are unlikely to have had a life elsewhere, as most of them have very low klm's - if they were career vehicles prior this would not be the case.

Some Light Pumps are being retrofitted and given out to SES units (minus the pump).

Exactly Fastlane, exactly.

It doesnt matter where the units come from? If they are new or de - commissioned career appliances aslong as they get the job done it serves the purpose where most career and volleys put their life and time on the line for other people.
