I've seen transport inspectors in a joint operation with police a number of years ago around the winthrop booragoon area on leach hwy when the kleenheat gas place was still there. Like the other cases above police were breath testing and transport inspectors were having a look at the cars not trucks. This was quite a few years ago when they had that really big hoon problem at the Macca's car park on leach hwy. So i'd say they are able to inspect cars but a majority of the time they concentrate on heavy vehicles.

Spotted this one in Beldon today. Looks like they've strayed from the traditional falcon.

Contrary to popular belief Ford will continue to produce a Falcon station wagon for the Australian market. Previously, both Holden and Ford announced they were moving away from the 'traditional' station wagon to concentrate on the VE Sportswagon and Territory (respectively). Due to overwhelming feedback from the public and small business, Ford have decided to continue with the traditional station wagon BUT not with a new FG model. Whilst Ford have released new FG model Falcon sedans and utes, to save production costs, the station wagon will continue as a Falcon BF mk3 (Ford Falcon XT Station Wagon).

Had cause to stop into Main Roads WA Heavy Vehicle Operations on Monday, saw a few of the new Hilux's. Didnt have my camera on me tho :(

Also saw a few unmarked cars... White ford falcon wagons with the same dash light configuration as WAPOL (except in magenta, not red/blue)

Will try to get some photos next time

Does anybody know if these vehicles have sirens?

I was told that the Dept of Transport 'Transport Inspectors' (for taxis) have sirens, wonder if these Main Roads ones are the same....?
