Caught a glimpse of an interesting vehicle at Innaloo shops today. A sedan possibly Camry or Sonata type, marked as 'Department of Transport' and 'Compliance'. Large green checkered pattern on the boot and rear sides (like a police car) with a clear LED bar on the roof.

Those are the people that enforce the regulations for taxis & taxi drivers and charter vehicles and operators.nachoman wrote:Caught a glimpse of an interesting vehicle at Innaloo shops today. Re: Transport inspectors
I believe the ones signed as "Compliance" are doing the taxi compliance stuff. The transport inspectors are signed differently (but still all part of the same department, just slightly different functions...)

Re: Transport inspectors
Yeh the compliance ones are for taxis. I think they are called compliance officers whereas the truck guys are called transport inspectors.
Transport inspectors are going after speeding trucks now too. Saw them with a speed gun in the 50km zone at Freo port today...
