Army choppers over Swanbourne

Post by robbage »

A couple of choppers were buzzing around over Swanbourne earlier this week. They didn't come close enough for my cheapy digital with 3x zoom so they're a bit grainy.

one of the guys in our class recently (ie: a few days ago) flew down to bunbury on a solo navigation exercise, and saw 6 Kiowas at the airfeild there, so could be the same ones

There was something in the news today about a new egress trainer being built at Campbell Barracks.

These Guys are all comlpeting there certificaion (Flying Hours)
They left Darwin some 2 weeks ago and are tracking the coast line all the way around to Adelaide from there they head straight back upto Darwin and from there they progres to Chonooks (think thats is how you spell this)
They were camped in Jurien Bay Last week as they had run into a head wind so they had to wait for Fuel to arrive overnight. 1 chopper is the Lt Commander rest are new pilots.
they are an absoloute top bunch of Guys they landed here last week we gave the guys a lift to the Fish and Chip shop they rolled out the kit and slept with the aircraft and that is how they are travilling the whole way around.

What a life Hey !!!!!

They were landing at the back of Irwin barracks on Brockway Road and flying quite low around the area.
