From memory the vehicle was purchased second hand (EDIT: It may have been new...) from the US? I'm not 100% sure though.

I thought it was new...ummm yes it looks left hand drive but I wouldn't have thought so. Aren't left hand and Dual control vehicles meant to have a warning on the vehicle?

Looks more like an assault vehicle that would ram your front door down (or wall if your a bikie).May be im too use to rescue vehicles being red and white.

wouldn't mind driving that to work, will stop people cutting you of and trying to squeeze past you at merging points

didn't they spend like something stupid on it like over 500K.

There was much criticism around as they could have bought an Australian made for less and possibly got 2.

1 doesn't sound like enough. What happens in a siege, the crims know exactly if they take this out then the cops have got no more.
CANT HEAR THE POLICE ANYMORE?

The Bushmaster is a brilliant military vehicle, marketed quite successfully by Thales to overseas markets, it might be a bit of overkill for non military use. It would certainly make a statement though.

Well considering we have pretty strict gun laws unless someone made a home made grenade launcher or land mine that didnt blow up in there face i think it would be pretty safe for the occupants inside..

But if it was outta service the day the stuff hit the fan do they have a spare or backup ?

What happened to the old one ?

A watercannon truck going through north bridge would "clean" the streets
