Ta, it came over FESA Comms as a Car V Truck but I have no idea where this truck was, Osy Park said there was no need at all for them to be there however requested the USAR Truck because of the structure issue.

Certainly was a few dozen people looking on, VERY NICE looking Team Leader vehicle.

ahhh that explains why the pager didn't go off, USAR truck is there. that's about 2 minutes from the unit. Was the USAR truck under firecall when you heard it turn out yorky??

I don't know how it happened but its on the bottom of a mean hill and the intersection doesn't have green arrows so chances are someone buggered up while turning but I didn't ask so don't know.

No I pulled up then the USAR with the FESA van came down the hill under normal road.

Its one of those from 2 lanes into 1 lane intersections. Its 2 lanes on one side of the lights but turns into a single lane on the other side.Youve usually got some bonehead trying to cut you off.

Ahhh yes that sounds more plausible than the hill theory. Shocking intersection as a whole in my opinion.

Also somebody (guessing Police) setup three cones to block traffic coming past (note the pic with the dark red car having just gone through) however drivers simply drove around the cones [-X (although you can see from the picture showing the intersection its pretty clear (cones obscured by Team Leader vehicle)).

Yorky I expect the cones were put there to force traffic out a bit so that they are less likely to hit any vehicles half on the road. We frequently use this technique at the front and back of our ses vehicles at an incident so that traffic are forced around us.

Could be the case, however one cone was in the *middle* on the lane signifying that you should not pass. Cars were going to the left of the cone (where you could only squeeze a small car through, towards the rear of those half parked vehicles then having to avoid aforementioned vehicles, then continuing on [-o<

...then they're not using enough cones or signs. Most common method for blocking an entire lane is with a vehicle though...Oh well I didn't see it so can't really comment on it specifically.

Using cones like that is teamed up with vehicles in the "fend off" position.

Here is where the cones were placed, indeed not enough cones or possibly a poorly placed cone.

The ute was under firecall on the freeway (it went past me on the train). Didn't hear the siren though.

Believe the UTE is for the FLO ?
