Its not worth it mate starting a discussion pointing out whats wrong. Ring the rangers or shopping centre security, there payed to do that.

I dare say the thing about this site is that it's not always the quality of photos that is so important but the lenths you go to get the shot that makes them cool photos!

Horrible photo i know, but out at BBR on sunday, the steam engine blew a superheater (in non technical mumbo jumbo: Bad ;)). it wasnt overly severe, but they took the Fowler (Diseasle) out to Whitemans Village Junction to act as a backup incase the brown stuff hit the fan.

To get the Fowler up to the main station, it was easiest to "double head" the Consist... ie: Two locomotives at the front.

This doesnt happen alot, and its awesome to see when it does

No photos yet but a great photo opportunity coming up on Sunday with the Convoy for Kids. This will involve a convoy of trucks heading from Horrie Millar Drive, along Kewdale Rd, Orrong Rd, Great Eastern Hwy, Causeway, and then onto Riverside Drive. There will be a Police escort front and back as well as motorcycle outriders.
Im taking my truck in it so will try and get some photos and post them here Sunday night hopefully.

PS Leaving Coles distribution centre 9.30 to arrive Riverside drive 10am approx

Here are some photos of the truck convoy. Photos of WAPOL have been posted else where.

The Phantom truck was quite a hit and a lot of work had gone into it.

From Yesterday

Both the NG and the Perry (the two steam locomotives) were out for maintenance... so the Fowler "Rosalie" was chosen to go for a run for the day.

The Guard did not show up, so I was the guard for the day.

Image

The Train Approaching Whiteman Village Junction from the Bushland Loop

Image

Me unhooking the Locomotive from the carriages

Image

The Lever Arch Frame at Mussle Pool Station - Still fully operational, used when the train runs around to drive back up the hill

Red indicates a Signal, Black is a Point, and Blue is a Point Locking Mechanism

Image

A look at some of the signals, The Two Semaphore signals you see are fully operational, and you can see a "cheese knob" point lever in between them. This is for the road to the workshops. Where the main and loop line converge (near where the Loco is) is the points the frame are operating. (Levers 3 and 4)

Image

Signalling the Driver in (that signal means come towards me slowly - yes, the hands do move)

Image

The Jones Couplers Meeting... as the train moves back, the "chopper" drops in, and the bar you see is moved in over the chopper as a safety device, to prevent the carriages from detaching from the Loco - above you can see the vacuum brake pipes.

Image

Approaching the Junction, with the Outer Home Signal at "Proceed"

Image

again approaching the Junction, and through the Scissor Crossover with Red indicating that the train will be going from this track, to the other. As it is a scissor crossing, there are two indicators, one for each track - on approach from the loop. the Left must be Red, indicating that you are crossing tracks, and the right does not matter, but on approach from Mussle Pool, both must be green, as you are continuing on that line to Platform One

so there you go, there is some video - and I will try and get that up eventually :)
