Re: Transperth Security Vechile
i wonder why they didnt mount the aireal on the lightbar, it would be higher and would make it harder to purposly snap off, it would still be too low to snap it off in under ground carparks ect. and possibley use less coax...

Possibly because the lightbar doesn't act as a very good ground plane and might general electrical noise.nra555 wrote:i wonder why they didnt mount the aireal on the lightbar

Re: Transperth Security Vehicle
I wish they did put a bigger aerial on the tango cars though reception is shocking out near kwinana, freo, midland etc. Have to use mobile phone..

Re: Transperth Security Vechile
Shouldnt be an issue as thats a ground independant antenna.robbage wrote:Possibly because the lightbar doesn't act as a very good ground plane and might general electrical noise.nra555 wrote:i wonder why they didnt mount the aireal on the lightbar
Lots of companies now are opting for smaller, low profile antennas cause they look "ugly"
Makes us techies richer when they need more repeaters to get better coverage!!!!

Yes, I know what you mean. TADIS cuts out from about Middle Swan depending upon where you park the vehicle!bawds25 wrote:I wish they did put a bigger aerial on the tango cars though reception is shocking out near kwinana, freo, midland etc. Have to use mobile phone..

Re: Transperth Security Vechile
There's no point having the radio in the car if they dont have the correct aireal for it to do its job. im listening to a Tango car now, and the signal is shocking (car to repeater), not sure of its location but the repeater is in centeral park.VK6ZUK wrote:Shouldnt be an issue as thats a ground independant antenna.robbage wrote:Possibly because the lightbar doesn't act as a very good ground plane and might general electrical noise.nra555 wrote:i wonder why they didnt mount the aireal on the lightbar
