FESA CLP1 vs CLP2

Post by auntys_eyes »

I looked back through my picture archives and found pictures of both CLP1 (Perth) and CLP2 (Freo). Now that i have seen them together they are quite different. So everybody join me in a game of "Spot the Difference". How many can we find?? Let's be creative :)

the access to the ladder on perth is before the rear wheels, while its in between the rear wheels on freo.

the stabliser rams are in different positions.

feo has one big locker, while perth has two small lockers.

perth has fire on the frount and freo does not

perth number plate is yellow and black, while freo is white and blue. lol

The differences in the cab chassis are very easy to identify, as most of you would have noticed. The main difference of course being the much older model of CLP1 - which also received a visibility upgrade a couple of years ago, so has the yellow decals. CLP2 is a shorter, newer model, with the older decals.

I personally think it's really easy to spot the difference if you can see the cab. The fun comes when you can only see the boom or the platform.

You'll notice on CLP2 that the boom end and tip of the fixed ladder section (ie before the bend in the boom) has red and white stripes, while CLP1 is just white.

At the base of the boom, there is an angled section on CLP1, where CLP 2 is straight at the bottom.

Some of the more particular differences can be spotted on the cage/platform and sections of boom. My PC is having Power Supply issues at the moment, so I can't get the images to show this.

OK, so PC is still not working, but memory is. Remembered I have some already in a gallery...

If you look at this thread from the Shopping Centre fire, you can see a similar view of Freo CLP (CLP2).

In the image below is Perth CLP (CLP1). Now, I hadn't actually pinpointed the differences previously, but could tell the newer Freo CLP. If you look at the pic of Freo CLP, you can see an extra 'bit' (electrics I think) on the side of the Platform, as well as the bottom left of the side, having a small angled piece, where on CLP1, this piece is squared against the main frame of the platform. There are some other slighlty different pieces of equipment between the two, and slightly different placements, but can't find the right pics to show this.

Add to that, the size of the red stripes/style of striping is different around the bottom of the platform
