It's a magnet. Probably pinched or fell off ?

The 'Station' signs on all(?) FRS and VFRS vehicles are magnetic.

The 'Kwinana' signs had been taken off and placed inside the truck for the drive up the freeway. Apparently they often come off at higher speeds and/or in windy conditions. The first 2 photos were taken before i got talking to the Kwinana crew, and the second 2 pics were taken later (after a crew member stuck the sign on for me).

Cheer's guys, i didn't know all FRS and VFRS vehicles were fitted with magnetic station stickers, now i nose.

My first thought about the missing "Kwinana" sticker was that it had fallen off.

Wonder how many times that's happened

They're not all fitted with them. The magnetic stickers are mainly on the metro appliances. In the country they labels on most VFRS appliances are permanently stuck to the sides of the vehicles. I've seen three ways it's done...
*Red letters on a white background - all reflective (eg Albany VFRS LT & CP).
*White stencil style on the red background - non reflective (eg Lake Grace VFRS 2.4UT).
*Red letters on a white background - non reflective (eg Walpole VFRS LT).
There might be others out there I've not seen.

Older appliances such as those at Merredin has no brigade details at all.
