Newman Pics - Police

Post by auntys_eyes »

With much thanks to the WAPol guys and girls in Newman here are some pics of their base and fleet. All the officers i spoke with were happy to stop and chat and special thanks to the Sergeant who showed me around the office.

Here is the relatively new Newman Police Station and Courthouse. The garden area to the left of the second photo is a memorial to the 4 officers killed in a light plane creash near Newman Airport in 2001.

That's why I asked if they had pushbikes up there, the uniform looks like the bike uniform here.

All correct. There were two officers there on the bicycles, in the same uniform (yellow polo shirts/shorts) as here in Perth. Although the bikes were identical there was nothing on them to show that they were Police bikes so i didn't photograph them :)

Thanks for the confirmation mate. I've seen a couple of guys on bikes around our patch. Even saw 10 or 12 at one point cross over the freeway on the Claisebrook pedestrian ramp. But that's going back a few weeks.
