Haven't we been through this...
Unmarked and covert mean completely different things. A covert car will never look like or be percieved to be a police vehicle. The whole point of covert is to not be identified. No covert vehicle would have any sort of red/blue lighting or radio gear.
Unmarked simply implies not overtly marked or identified as a police vehicle.

I'm sorry but a covert vehicle in the sense you are talking about would not have deck blasters and i'm thinking they would be a lot less flashy then a brand new wrx

I've got one of those too for my mobile hands free. Doesn't mean my Hyundai Getz is an unmarked car! :P, though would look great with the disco lights :P

Any reasons why the police are changing to these cars?

I hope it has nothing to do with this petrol debate, but rather because of the cars performance?

I do understand the whole environmental change thing, but seriously why does it have to apply to our emergency services? I think they should be given what ever that wish to get the job done well….
