Is this actually run by the council, or is it a private company?

Unless the post has been edited since, there was no claim that they were ranger vehicles. The post as I read it says they are "security vehicles", just for information.

Apart from being Hyundai's the cars dont look too bad, certainly better than the Magnas I was driving when I was there. All we had was a single rotating orange light we could put on the roof when the need arose.

Have they given CSS Officers any ranger powers for after hours?

PSS has always had the contract to backfill staff for Meliville, sometimes good sometimes bad.

Recently Town of Cambridge put alot of parking meters in down Cambridge Street/Car Parks/Near City West. This has resulted in them advertising for a Parking Officer to fulfil these duties as not to put much pressure on the Rangers.

Herewith the new car they got for the Parking Officer. Personally a nice car, but I raise my eyebrow at the little orange light.

I've noticed that Canning are rolling out the Ford Rangers in favour of the BF/BA Falcon ute with canopy.

Ranger driving a Ranger. :)

I wonder what would they use the LED scroller for?

I don't think I have ever seen any of these with lights activated. I guess not a great deal of P1s  ?
Lightbar more for show rather than go?
Here are the BF Falcon's

Wouldn't having the message board on the back be a little more common sense though?
"VKI, NJ050 will you be attending the job?"
"Negative VKI, my desk is bolted to the floor".
