Hi Folks.

Went for a trip on the new Mandurah railway today. Took a couple of pictures at the Mandurah end. There were lots of people :-)

And just incased you missed it today.

The train will actually be running tommorrow, and the day after, and the day following that. Repeating this pattern for quiet sometime.

And If the mandurah to perth line isn't your thing? Why not try one of transperth other lines. Like Fremantle to perth.

Smart-arse :P

I did the Joondalup line on it's first day of operation, and so I just had to do the Mandurah line today as well.

The other lines ... well their opening days were just a BIT before my time :P

More to come though Z, 1 from Perth to the Airports and another line to Subi...

Hows this, PTA have built a "Special Events" platform at West Leederville, makes one wonder if the new stadium denate already has an outcome yet to be anounced.

Hmmmmm, where's that "BAN" button in the forum control panel gone?!? :P

Subi's light rail isn't it? I reckon we're overdue for a decent link out to the airport though. I think it'd branch off around where the Tonkin Highway bridges over the railway line, near Brady's Ceilings.

I know they've been putting a siding in around there somewhere, but didn't know it had a platform attached. I thought it was just somewhere they could quickly stable a train if it wasn't going all the way to Freo... It's been a while since I've been down that line, I should pay better attention :P

Light rail... as in trams? Call me out of touch, but that's the first I've heard of it :-)

Considering our airport is in the backside of nowhere, Perth so needs a Airport shuttle train. Anyone who has visited Hong Kong can testify to just how incredibly useful it is - You literally step out of immigration/customs and step on board a train (train station is in the airport!) which takes you to the main line.

Yeah sorry Z, my bad i did say "platform" as that is all it is but its on the northern side of the track.

Is classified as "Special Events" stop by PTA, just not common or public knowledge.

Yup.

There's few obscure references here and there, for example this page on the Subiaco Oval website and this media release from the City of Perth.
