For a better view of the emergency lights at intersections it would be great if they
a) would be screwed on the roof of the cab, further forwards, and
b) they would be mounted on an angle, V Shabed (similar to the Vector Lightbar).
Failing this, stick some nice LED repeaters facing sidewards at the front of the vehicle. And get rid of rotating beacons once and for all!

Not practical.
The roof of the appliance acts as a ground-plane for the VHF antenna. Go whacking a beacon in the way and you're going to cause problems with that. The appliances also have an ID printed on the roof of the cab for overhead identification.
FWIW, with the mirrors inside the beacons, they are designed to be mounted as is - on an angle isnt going to give you any benefit and would probably cut the performance of the light.

Cheers for the info!
Then its about time they bouth decent lights. I vaguely remember someone posted a light tanker with a LED Bar. Should happen more often
And stick some sidefacing LEDs on the front. Bright sunlight, dim emergency lights mounted at the rear of the vehicle and intersections don't mix well.
