The one on the causeway - with that green ute - was the result of a DUI driver who decamped - and from what i heard a AG-7xx bike managed to track him down...

pretty silly where they have stuck the emergency lights...fine viewing for front and back...but don't want to be in there approaching an intersection - way to far at the back of the vehicle!

Doubt it'd be necessary around their working area. They wouldn't be responding from halfway across the city...

its got rego plates on it , and there is interestions on this side of town too you know ,it wouldnt take much more effort to put it on the front at the time , just the tools who put it on were not thinking

I doubt it would do much on road UDD. May have a dash or magnetic light

Yep - all but across the road from each other. The Crossman 3.4 was a bit further south I think.

Hey settle down a little. Fastlane is correct. You are overlooking the simple fact that this is a Whiteman Park vehicle. It is clearly not set up like a 'normal' emergency services vehicle for the purpose of attending emergencys any where. It would be fair to assume it has no authority outside of the park and certainly wouldn't be doing any UDD on public roads (except maybe to move around the perimiter of the park during an emergency). Whiteman Park is predominantly bush and/or reserve land, and has few roads and populated areas.

To state "just the tools who put it on were not thinking" is a gross presumption, and a demonstration of a lack of maturity. You have no idea who mounted the lights and thier reasons and motivations for doing so.

Before I rant any more, lets get some facts

Does anybody actually know what the vehicle is used for? Where is Whitemans Park anyway?

Then we can decide between two options:
a) If it has any sort of emergency response purpose that would remotely involve an intersection and it has no further warning lights, then yes -> crap positioning

b) warning lights are purely for immobile warning purposes/slowing people down/indicating an emergency situation, then -> no, lights are fine.

The sole purpose of this vehicle is to check trucks on german motorways. It pulls in front of them, whacks the blues on and a dot-matrix sign tells the truckies to follow.
Sure, yellow lights would have been enough, but blue lights have more 'authority', so they decided go go blue (as it is a government authority).

Maybe there are some parallels?!
