Ive only seen them once with lights flashing but thats when they were blocking a level crossing off and directing traffic elsewhere. Dont know if they went there priority.

Last I heard, they do not have the authority to go to jobs under priority, in fact theres a dispute over why they need 'red' light bars.

My view as long as they get the job done...
"VKI, NJ050 will you be attending the job?"
"Negative VKI, my desk is bolted to the floor".

I would have thought they didnt need the red lights. There is not much difference in their role to the secureforce bus security guards surely? Would the roughest train stations be any more dangerous than the roughest bus stations if left unpatrolled?

It would appear to be a political thing to appease the voters who cry about violence on the trains. If there was big trouble surely the police would need to attend anyhow. Didnt a transit guard get bashed near the horeshoe bridge a while ago and it was in all the media and the police ended up handling it anyway.

The lights are crimson, not red. Same colour as the transport inspectors and DEC/CALM officers have. Performing a 'statutory function'..

They don't have sirens.

I think they personally should have red and blues with sirens, providing they're given the correct driver training. If they're providing urgent back up to officers at another station, they should have the right to priority it to them if lives are at stake.

If you say that they should have reds and blues would you also agree that secureforce have reds and blues also?

SecureForce are private contractors for Transperth, I'm talking about them backing up there own. I'm not going to waste my breath arguing with you, there's a time and place, and WARSUG isn't it. I'm simply giving my personal opinion, it doesn't have to be a big deal.
