Tango 155 - Yours To Own

Post by auntys_eyes »

This is brilliant. While walking through Midland Gate recently i spotted these models in a shop window. This is a 1:18 scale, die-cast model of Tango 155, a Holden Commodore Traffic car from about 1999-2000(?). There were 4000 made and each comes with a numbered 'certificate of authenticity'. I was stunned at the detail, right down to the genuine WA licence plate, WAPol markings and even a 'Crime Stoppers' sticker on the back window. They are selling for $159.99.

These first two were taken through the window, so a bit blurry.

The shop assistant was kind enough to take this one out of the box for me to photograph.

That model has been out for a few years now

Was a good job on the model, apart from the orange light strip at the back of the vecta lights (which we never had).

In Perth recently they had a sale of these and the Victorian Traffic car, on sale for $40.

I remember paying $150 odd a few years ago.

Awesome deal, i believe there sold out now.

Yes that was the registration number of the car.

It was a driver training car.

Was for sale a few years ago for 20 grand, would of been a good bit of history to own

Apart from it getting flogged for the first 40,000kms of its life!

The orange light strip was used on the trial version of the light bar. It was on a VS commodore T13 at Traffic Operations Group in 1996/7.

At this store in Midland i saw at least 3 of the Tango 155 models and a couple of the Victorian car. Didn't look to see what the Vic car was selling for.

The orange strip was directional. Left, right, split from middle and inners then outers.

Was good at prangs and hazards.

Only down side was the size of the operating box. Quite large floating around the cabin.

Accurate until you look at the interior, my T155 model has power window switches, which no WAPOL VT's had...Sadly they put the GTS interior in it.
