Good Pics Turbo, the darkness shows more reality than if it was all lit up etc.

Tom can you give me a run down on what vehicles a station like Perth would have at their disposal, and what they would be used for?

I'll jump in on this one if its ok - from what I know,

GC cars, Mike Bikes TE7xx or AGxxx - the rest Tom will fill you in.

I do know that Curtin House has a fair few interesting ones - including 2 x Mobile Police Lockups - GC6xx - CD cars (Holden & Ford) - Major Crash, CD marked cars, few 4WD (typical layout for TRG) - and out the front - you have the standard GC cars 121, 101,102 etc

Hope this helps
;)

You might like to have a look at this;
http://warsug.info/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=1564

This is when my VFAS group did a visit to the Fire House last year - Not sure if i snapped all of the units i listed in my last post - but yeah ...

G

PS* - I was told that Perth3rd is the primary unit that does Car Accidents etc - on the Friday night of the Emergency show at Convention Centre, Perth 3rd responded to a Black merc on its side on Wellington Street with persons trapped. So - Im not saying that it is the sole unit assigned to MVA's - but yeah its what I hear.

Or this thread which is more recent. I have been told there's a few changes even since then! (ie end of April, 2007)

Perth1st, 2nd, 3rd - typically Scania series 3 or 4 MP, MPHR or HP (but not always).
Perth LRV - line rescue vehicle (Landcruiser or Patrol troopie)
Red Holden Commodore - District Manager Central's vehicle.
A support Bus - Perth PC (Personnel Carrier)
Perth Ute - generally for firies on light duties

PLUS

MIS7 - Urban Search and Rescue truck
An old vehicle with a wheeled escape ladder.

Turbo - taking night pics of emergency service vehicles is indeed a challenge - can't use flash because of the reflective striping. Part of the skill is trying to get enough light and then editing as carefully as you can with image editing software. Well done on yours. :)

I thought that WAPOL was interesting, this is just as if not better must be the big red fire engines. Do they have ranks such as the police etc. I did work as a firey but was in the Navy 25 years ago (damage control) used all the scba stuff etc etc but never took it further. :D
