Customs Vehicle (SA)
Sorry Dazla, I'm not trying to be akward but I don't follow.Because the APS no longer exists, they are not members of the AFP. All operational AFP vehicles have red and blue lights.
If they are not members of the AFP why are APS cars getting about with Australian Federal Police on their lightbars?
I was under the impression that APS officers were not actual sworn federal coppers....

Sorry Tom,
Was late at night....well thats my excuse....they are members of the AFP, well sworn employees anyway and they can envoke Sec 305 of the Australian Road Rules etc. They are currently all doing UDD training.
I cant see why Customs would need UDD, however they have just upped the anti in the Ports.

Having orange lightbars in a shipping/aviation environment makes it very difficult to perform vehicle stops. They don't stop because orange lightbars are the norm.
The photo is of a South Australian Customs Vehicle , they have different laws over there - I think magenta would be fine for Customs in WA.I don't think Customs will ever have the need to perform UDD. However, all Customs Officers on the wharves are armed (or will be very shortly).
