Yep the command post truck sure looks awesome!

All these pics just remind me how slow WA is with increasing and updating its service.

Well consider that Melbourne has over twice the population of Perth AND that the Ambulance Service isnt Govt owned/operated here in WA..

The mas were also very lucky in the ay they got most of this equipment As a requirement of the commonwealth games. there fleet got a major overhaul to cope with the demands that were expected. From memory they were brought an extra 50 vans for the games alone, as thats how many were required at the sporting venues and couldnt impact on there day to day runnings.
This was also the case for the bikes to get around the games village and events. The bikes do get used alot during sumer as they have roving bike patrols up and down the major populated beaches ie st kilda foreshore.
They are also in line for a uniform overhaul and are looking at what color etc they will use.

The uniform they have is pretty good i have to say (not that green isnt wonderfull either) but at the end of the day most government run ambulance services get a good deal of $$$ have a good fleet turn over (mercs are doing about 100 to 130klms)

There Netcomm/Emerg System is fantastic even the american style intergraph dispatch system (previous flagged with problems) is good that it houses all emergency services in one building.

And not having a SJA bash here but the last 5/6 years have caught up to the rest of the state.

St johns will also be the first in the country to have there paramedic training nationally recognise, and will form the standard. So i have been lead to beleive from acap

Is that different though to being trained as a paramedic through both victoria and monash uni ?

Or are you talking about the service on its own.

I always though a course was a course at uni once you were qualified you could go to any state and your qualifaction would still be valid.

What i am led to beleive is that they are trying to make sure that all states do the same batchelor cse for there studies. They are apparently looking at the ecu one now and then other states to ensure that they have similar syllabus.

When you compare that nsw still do the diploma level it is far less than over here. You do 7 weeks at there school then on the road and study throughout the next 2 yrs, but dont come out with the same quals.
