Dunno... Our crews aren't out there as we're not specialised BFF crews (we're waiting for properties under threat, accidents etc.

Last I heard from FESA/DEC (CALM) was that it's still within containment lines.

Top stuff again Wes. I did an escort for the phosphate/water semi-trailer tanker late Sunday night that was heading down there. Driver told me the fire is in a high conservation value area so i guess its probably an old growth area with high fuel loads , is that the case? and are they still using aerial attacks down there?
Good onya for a job well done

Yes it is in a high conservation area - they released some Noisy Scrub Birds (rare/endangered) into the Porongorups a few months ago. Now there's no habitat for them. :(

Aerial attacks, last I heard, were on standby while backburning was going on.

Cheers Wes , I remember the media surrounding the bird releases.. its a real shame its the same area, a lot of effort and time would have gone into that work. Thanks for the info.
