orace68,
Which light-bar are you referring to specifically?
Here's a few shots of 3 of the various types used here.
Thanks to Danny for his help with the shot of TE205.
The 'albino' car with the MX7000 light-bar is CD512....not in the panel-beaters for a change!
cheers
Tom

Is the link to TE210's light-bar maker.
Some nice pics of one 'lit-up' also.

The siren speaker is mounted behind the front bumper near the grille. Just because theres a spot for it on the roof, it doesnt mean it is being used. I'd be surprised if anyone did these days - its loud enough on the front of a vehicle - Worksafe would have a fit if they were mounted on the roof.
LED lights are still VERY expensive - and they do not have as much multi-directional visibility as standard lights.

Most SV6's are to be replaced with XR6 Turbos, including the MIG fleet. The reasons are fairly simple in that the XR6T is a far better handling vehicle with better performance. It will be the first time that 79 Division/MIG will have a Ford fleet since the VK Commodore, so the change has not been made lightly.
In respect to the code 3 lightbar used by K-9 and MIG, the siren is mounted like all other ones, under the hood.
The code 3 lights were purchased along time ago (10 years ago) and are coming to the end of their user life. They were purchased when most traffic cars had the old mickey mouse lights. The only traffic cars in the metro area to use the code 3 were TOGS cars until the vector light made its debut.

Well Gents aren't we a mob of traitors!. Fancy ditching Holdens for Fords
I'm extremely dissappointed with Walks and co..
Your wheels Walks would piss all over a XR6T anyday. I have to admit BA/BF's XR's look good in that velocity blue and canary yellow colour.
XR6T also run on premium fuel only. Better tell Fleets that before you fill one up at the servo.
LED light-bars also draw less current from the battery.
Couple of pics: Code 3 light-bar in action on the now deceased D4 and a vector-type on a traffic cars (AJ203) at a display on the South Perth foreshore.

Is there any reason they added the "Highway Patrol" to these cars? Sounds very American to me.
