Nice vehicles. Sirens?

Has anyone seen them in action? Do they regularly attend incidents?

I think that they are going to get the ability to go lights & sirens but I don't know when. They are heavily involved around the industrial areas and attend incidents such as following [these are a only a few]

- Illegal Dumping
- Chemical Spills
- Toxic Smells / Spills
- Polution control [i.e at a scene of an industrial fire]

The list goes on. Must admit, be a great job to do!

Yeh sounds like it would be an interesting gig!

So at the moment they sport magenta (priority 3) lights? Does that mean they have law enforcement functions as well as containing hazmat incidents?

They are also moving across to Red lights from Magenta in the near future and will have P3 status...

According to the Department of Transport document on warning lamps (http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/mediaFil ... gLamps.pdf), magenta is Priority 3 and Red is Priority 2.

Just had a quick read of the DoT guide on warning lamps... in particular the 'security vehicles' section. I've seen heaps of security vehicles with warning lamps other than those pictured in the guide.

Is this guide enforceable? Or is it purely just a guide? I cant find anything in the Vehicle Standards about specific types of light bars or warning lamps for security vehicles...

Any ideas?

I've seen that truck around aswell. Its a s/h import from japan, so it might have come with that lightbar. Makes me think that the red section might not actually work because they have put another amber beacon next to it!

If anyones interested... a certain someone put a sticker on this about 3 weeks ago. The driver knew that it was illegal. Apparently the lightbar had been taken off an old ranger vehicle.
