I believe that there is a business located just down the road from where the chopper is hangered which specialises in this kind of training. Can't remember the name off the top of my head though.
Yeh if you travel down the road to the end of the road towards the water its accross the way on the left you can see it.

You're all talking about HUET training. Helicopter underwater escape training. I'm sure if you search it and Fremantle you should be able to find it.

Sorry for more questions but any idea if the chopper has a volunteer in the back to do the rescue or is a career person. Not talking about the pilot and flight crew but the actual rescuer.

The HUET training facility is at IFAP. I have done the HUET course there several times.

I was actuly trialed for getting into the Helicopter service for surflifesaving.

They make you jump off a 10 meter tall diving tower at challenge stadium

a 400 meter swim in under 7 mins

an 800 meter, 400 meter swim, 800 meter run, 400 meter board paddle in under 25 mins or less.

and under water swim of 25 meters followed by 25 meters swim in under 30 seconds or something rather....

Pretty hard, very competitive. Passed the tests, except for the board test on a day with 6 meters waves....

Surf life saving are going encrypted soon so you won't be able to hear us anymore, including people who like to make them selves official by making shark alert companies like sharkalarm, whoe's Trademark has expired on the australian IP register.

We have alot of the media listening into us which drives us nuts because we have no privacy so I'm looking forward to the new radios. BHP is donating about million dollars to us to have the system implemented.
