Hi guys. I saw SM 04 2 weeks ago at Macdonald Johnson in Bayswater all finished. Its actually a dual cab chassis with a hook lift. (or as you guys might call it - a POD carrier) In the first photo you can see that its just a chassis (with the hydraulic oil tank mounted) In the second photo it has the hook lift mounted to the chassis (you can see the rear roller) Just behind it is the demountable body (or POD) witch looks like it has some kind of generator or compressor type set up. Not sure as to where the truck will be based. Good to see that FRS it starting to take delivery of some specialised vehicles (esp for the rescue side) Would like to see a heavy rescue tender with hydraulic crane and other specialised pieces coming thru as well.

I think this will be replacing Malaga's very old Acco POD carrier. Also keen to see what kind of pods they'll have running too.

Important to note that all of the modules on these also carry a fleet ID.

Note that these are not a hook-lift system. They are 'semi' demountable, however I don't believe it's part of firefighting operations or training - more for servicing.

I believe the original Acco transporter was/is marked as PCAR (POD Carrier), though will have to confirm on my photos later.

Do we know what Canning Vale's Isuzu is marked as?

In the photo with the POD in the background - it looks like one of the Decon units, but it could just be a generator for lighting etc.

SM 04 What station does that belong to?

SM 04 has been parked next to the rear sheds at Canningvale FS for about a week. Looks like they were doing training there last week as all the pods were in the yard. The Isuzu seems to still be there aswell. Not sure if that will be permently there though!
