I have a Diamond antenna on the roof of my house as well:

I ordered mine from Andrews Communications in NSW. They were pretty easy to deal with and the antenna was posted to me pretty securely packed which is always a good sign :) The antenna cost me around $80-$100 from memory.

However, you asked for LOCAL dealers... You could try Ham Shack. If they don't stock exactly what you're looking for, there's no harm in asking if it can be ordered in for you. The worst they can say is "No, bugger off!" :P

That Diamond in the pic I got from Strictly Ham in Melbourne. It had to be freighted across which added $45 to the price but that was really the only way of getting that antenna in Perth.

perthscanner wrote:I realise this was mainly for members own radio shacks, but would it be OK if people posted pics of radio gear from comm centres or vehicles other than their own - eg WAPOL / FESA / SJA / SES / Volunteer Sea Rescue / Freo Port Authority / JOTA / Newsrooms / Aircraft etc etc ?
If you want to post pictures of equipment of the emergancy services, you need to ask thier permission first.

Sweet looking units....on which band do they operate? and what do you use them for?

I believe the handheld is a Motorola XTS5000

He could run various bands here is some more info

The Motorola XTS 5000 portable radio is designed to offer multiple frequency band solutions for perfect system optimization in congested urban areas or wider country regions. Motorola currently offers the 700/800 MHz dual band (764-870MHz), the VHF band (136-174 MHz), UHF Range 1 band (380-470 MHz), and UHF Range 2 band (450-520 MHz).

what is the model number for the Mobile radio?
It is a Motorola XTL 5000 w3

and ill tell ya what they are used for (im a little supprised no 1 has guessed) they are the new digital police radio's
there is also another model mobile radio which they have which looks alot better then that one.. ill see what i can do about pics.
