₤18 = $37AU (rounded obviously)

however, keep in mind that the London eye is almost 3 times larger, and a much longer ride

Cause there's nothing else to see? A DVD would be good, but not as good as a blue ray. :D

What is the point of a temporary one?
To make money. Much the same as the temporary rides at the Royal Show.

And if you say " Oh I have been on the London Eye" to someone overseas they will be impressed etc, but if you say to someone "I have been on the Big Wheel" (whatever its called)
they won't be half as impressed, infact if they haven't been to Perth in last week they will have no idea what it is.

Why do the half that LOSE money keep coming back year after year? Surely they cant keep going if they LOSE money.

It is impossible for a ride at the royal show to lose money. Unfortunately...

I get a better view from our head office building...as does W_F from where he took the photos...like I'll be paying to see very little.

Maybe half is over estimated.... but some do loose money.... by the time they pay expenses + royalties then hefty mx costs for that period of time they loose money

Yes it can't be cheap to obtain one of those rides, transport it around, then get approvals, then get licenses and insurance. I imagine they would need lots of extensive maintenance and safety checks.

Folks it's a pain trying to fix up mixed quotes like a lot of you had, please if you're going to quote part of someone's post make sure you don't delete any tags at the beginning or end, otherwise it lands up someone being quoted as saying they said something when they didn't etc. I've fixed up the last few, but please keep it in mind.
