Did you
at the fact that its a, Ford Ranger?
All they would have to do is paint the back R A N G E R logo instead of putting on new stickers

Have recently seen a silver Ford Territory with LED Lightbar and an antenna mounted on the roofrack. Not sure if its a Canning Ranger vehicle but have a feeling it may be. No markings to speak of.

If anyones interested...
City of Bayswater rangers have just been approved for Priority 3 by the Department of Transport (fitment and use of magenta flashing lights + sirens).
Not sure when/if they will actually install them, local government seems pretty tight with their $$$
If they do, I believe they will be the first local government to use the lights?

SIRENS?
So they can issue parking tickets faster?
I fully support the Rangers jobs and they can have pink and green flashing lights for all I care whatever keeps them safe but I'd find it hard to justify sirens.
I believe a similar case is the Transit guards that have magenta lights but no siren?

I can understand the sirens in rural areas - Our rangers play an active role in firefighting.
I guess a metropolitan Bush Fire Control Officer can have a siren also.

Priority 3 was granted for the purpose of enforcing the Control of Vehicles (Off-road Areas) Act 1978. Motorbikes and other vehicles illegally driving on reserves and other prohibited areas etc i believe.
Lights and siren only to be used when pulling over a vehicle. Or 'in order to prevent injury to persons near the vehicle' (e.g. at traffic accidents).
Many local govt rangers have red/blue due to their involvement in fire control, the Department of Transport's own guide for installation and use of warning lamps says that rangers are entitled to red lights...

Technically magenta. Only to be activated when the vehicle is stationary. As for the colour of the plastic covers on the light bars... well, that's always been a matter of individual interpretation,

Sweet, thanks for that.
Red (P2) on the deltas would be understandable as magenta (P3) is only for pulling over vehicles for the purpose of inspection, as per Transport's warning lamps guide, apparently?
Personally i think they should have P1 the job they do is tip top and definitely a necessity!

Yes, but only in very specific circumstances...
"In some Local Government Districts the Ranger is also the first response officer for bush fires. These vehicles may utilise a red flashing lamp when carrying out these fire response duties. However the approval for fitment and use of these red lamps is based on written confirmation being first obtained from the Fire and Emergency Services Authority that the Ranger is in fact a Fire Response officer. Approval is also conditional upon vehicle users having completed an approved training course in operation of the relevant category of emergency vehicle."
