Re: Parkerville 3.4U
I gather that they are different in regards to the equipment on board, but would they not be the same type of truck with a similar build on the back? or is it the 4.4 thats based on the DEC appliance.

Re: Parkerville 3.4U
Neither are based on the DEC appliances. Both the 4.4 and 3.4U use a PTO pump - DEC appliances don't use these.
The *old* 3.4R's and the DEC heavy appliances are almost identical - built by the same company.

Re: Parkerville 3.4U
ahk, coz the fesa website says the 4.4 is based on the CALM appliance. this must be the old one seeing as tho its still listed as CALM. cheers fastlane.

Awesome Piks
Re: Parkerville 3.4U
Do they teach you about locker numbering in BFS? Those numbers are totally different to FRS, and any other system I've seen. If not done the FRS way they still usually start the numbers on the near side.

Re: Parkerville 3.4U
1 and 3 should be nearside, 2 and 4 offside (working from back to front). It's not a BFS thing - I'd just say its been numbered incorrectly.
(at least Locker 3 is numbered correctly!)

Quoted on the FESA website, mentioned its based on a DEC applianceFastlane wrote:Neither are based on the DEC appliances. Both the 4.4 and 3.4U use a PTO pump - DEC appliances don't use these.

The info on the FESA website has been the same for at least 4 years. Needs updating.

To quote from the FESA website for a 3.4Uwritten_ficton wrote:Quoted on the FESA website, mentioned its based on a DEC applianceFastlane wrote:Neither are based on the DEC appliances. Both the 4.4 and 3.4U use a PTO pump - DEC appliances don't use these.

http://www.fesa.wa.gov.au/internet/?Men ... tentID=259The 3.4 Urban Tanker has an operating crew of six (6) carries the necessary fire fighting equipment to the fireground, where it can be used to pump water from the tank, open water and street mains. The vehicle is suitable for larger townsite protection, is capable of carrying Breathing Apparatus and is ideal for broadacre / rural / bush fire fighting.
No mention of DEC or CALM appliance here.
Now to quote for a 2.4R
http://www.fesa.wa.gov.au/internet/?Men ... tentID=255The 2.4 Rural Tanker has an operating crew of three (3) or six (6), carries the necessary fire fighting equipment and is based on the CALM Heavy Duty Appliance. It is ideal for broadacre / rural / bush fire fighting and has limited structural fire fighting capacity.
It appears you are confusing the 3.4U (U=Urban) to a 2.4R or a 4.4R (R=Rural).
Wes, even though the info from the web site is 3-4 years old, they may still be building the trucks like this (however not too sure. This area has not been updated for some time)

From what you're saying then the BFS use the same system as FRS. That is odds on the near side, evens on the off side, and start the numbers from the back.
