TAS vehicle - unidentified

Post by crewman »

G'day all,

was in Tassie on holidays last month and saw a white Nissan X-Trail, no signage but fitted with Red & Blue LED lightbar.

I have a photo and I will post soon.

Any ideas what it may be ?

Cheers,

DK

Most likely to be Parks and Wildlife, which is similar to DEC in WA, or Forestry Tasmania, who manage the forest plantations.

Ok, may have found your vehicle. Sitting in St john St, Launceston, was a Nissan Xtrail, with red only lightbar, it had markings but only on the front drivers and passengers doors. Belongs to Tasmanian Ambulance service, from most angles looks unmarked. Unsure as to what it does for the Ambulance service, but if I find out I will post it.

Someone recently advised it is a Customs & Border Protection vehicle.

Where abouts did you spot it? the only customs vehicles I have seen here in tas have been blue Ford station wagons, fully marked.

The X-Trail was driving along Macquarie Street in Hobart itself.

Can you see the number plate in the pic? all Tas Gov vehicles have Tas Gov number plates, whereas the customs vehicles etc use standard number plates.
