Interesting to see that NSW and SA have Red and Blues on their VFAS vehicles

NSW have red only. Spent a fair bit of time in NSW and no SJA NSW vehicle has red and blues. SA have red and blues I believe on units which respond to bush fires. Don't know about the other SA units.

I always was under the presumption that there is St John Ambulance Australia then all the individual state brands would have the same vehicles etc etc styles etc.

Each state and territory st john wise is an independant entity with some strategic governing overall by national hence why each state has different vehicle designs, uniforms etc. It's coming together now a bit better with national standardisation of things such as uniforms (WA being the exception), radio frequencies, fleet numbering etc. It takes a while as no one likes change but slowly and surely things are becoming standard nationally. Rumours are about there will be a national logo change too.

You'll find that because each of the states are a seperate company with an overall banner they like to do things their own way. For example look at each states vehicles and you'll see that they'll closely resemble the ambulance service of their state either because they are ex ambulance service vehicles or they are designed along similar lines.
