St. John Victorian Bush Fire Relief

Post by SJANT »

Hi guys and girls. Finally decided to get a image shack account and post some photos. Lots more to come. Here is some St. John pics from Victoria where I was doing some Bush Fire Relief stuff. Pics of various vehicles I saw while I was there. Pretty much every Victorian vehicle has a red light bar, I did see some siren switches but don't know if there is a siren installed or not. The Tasmanian vehicles are the ones with reds and blues. Don't know why they have them so please don't ask. Enjoy

OMG - See.... why dont VFAS have vehicles like that ????? :( :P

Good on you SJANT - Appreciate the pics - if Vic SJA can have these lightbars on their vehicles, I don't see why it's still a problem about it here in WA.... [-X

Can of worms there. I will tell you this. Each use of the lightbars is logged in comms with a reason as to why it was needed and depending on circumstances usually permission is required before hand. I'm just in the process of uploading more photos of NSW, SA and NT vehicles. I think ACT and WA are the only ones with ambers in terms of SJA. A QLD vehicle I saw about 5 plus years ago had a green light bar with amber in the middle if I remember right. SA = red and blue on selected vehicles which respond to bush fires, VIC = red, NSW = red, Tas = red, red and blue and i have seen amber only, Qld = ?, NT = was red now new vehicles are red and blue as you will soon see, WA = amber, ACT = amber (on the ones i've seen).

IN the event that DISPLAN is activated in Victoria SJA/Govt Approved Ambulance providers are allowed to use emergency devices. On private property then thats a different story.

Greats pics though.

Don't know their Displan too in depth but i'd say allowed to use at the discretion of the provider. Not saying they are allowed them or not just the discretion for use lies with the priovider and operator of the vehicle.

Can confirm SJA in NSW are, or were, red. Would not be suprised if they go amber in the future given :(
